The research hub for studies of home: past, present, and future.

We deepen
and diversify understandings of home, for both academic and public audiences.

We are an interdisciplinary research hub between Queen Mary University of London and the Museum of the Home, combining expertise and exchanging knowledge across the two institutions since 2011.

We develop new research that deepens and extends conceptual, epirical and methodological approaches, and we engage diverse audiences with new ways of thinking about home.

Our research is collaborative and cross-disciplinary, encompassing work on home both within and beyond the domestic sphere. Alongside everyday life, domestic architecture, and material culture, we are interested in broader ideas about home, dwelling and belonging.

We are guided by our strategy, which outlines our objectives and ways of working.
